Ella's
Diapers should be washed at least once in hot water to seal the PUL outer before
using. The Hemp fleece used in your inserts have been washed before manufacture,
but you will need to wash and dry 3-4 more times to achieve maximum absorbency.
Your diapers and inserts
can both be washed in warm or hot water. Please avoid any "Free", natural, or
baby detergents. They can leave an oily film on your diapers and cause your fleece
to repel liquid instead of allowing it to pass into the soaker layer. Melissa
recommends adding ½ cup baking soda to your wash; it is great for odor control.
Do not use Bleach or Fabric Softener on any cloth diapers!
Your
diapers and inserts can be air or machine dried. Air-drying can extend the lifespan
of your diapers and keep your inserts stain-free. There is no bleaching agent
that works better than the sun! Hemp can get quite stiff in the sun, though, so
throw them into the dryer for a few minutes when they are dry/almost dry to soften.
